On Thursday, January 24, the Association of Banana Exporters of Ecuador (AEBE) held its General Assembly of Members to commemorate its 26th anniversary, reaffirming its commitment to the development and sustainability of the banana sector.
During the event, the 2024 financial and industry activity reports were approved, and an innovative strategic tool was unveiled: the Banana Public Policy Observatory. This platform, designed for AEBE members, aims to centralize and visualize projects and initiatives developed by AEBE in collaboration with local and international institutions.
A Positive Balance for the Sector
Throughout 2024, AEBE spearheaded 41 key initiatives that successfully prevented an economic impact of over $130 million. Additionally, the association achieved significant milestones by increasing member participation in international trade fairs and attracting thousands of visitors to national events organized by its team.
"These achievements reflect the hard work and unity of the sector. The creation of the Banana Public Policy Observatory will allow us to stay at the forefront, ensuring the sustainability and competitiveness of our industry. It is a tool that promotes transparency in the association's initiatives among its members," emphasized Jorge Encalada, President of AEBE.

For his part, José Antonio Hidalgo, Executive Director of AEBE, highlighted the association's strategic focus: "Reaching 26 years is a testament to AEBE's strength as a trade organization.
